All of us were created for a reason, and there is a purpose for each
of our lives. But there are so many kids here in Uganda who don't see a
purpose for their lives. They feel hopeless and that there is nothing to
live for. Their families don't have enough money to send them to
school so they are at home either working or doing nothing. When you
meet them you can see that hopelessness in their eyes. You can see how hopeless their life is. Part of my
passion here in Uganda is to help some of these precious lives see that
there is hope. To see that they are important and treasured. One way I
am trying to do this is by sponsoring some of these children so that they can go to
school and get an education. This week I was able to get my first child
sponsored. Below is some information about him:
Andrew is a young boy just 8 years old. He has lost his Mom and at the same time his Father disappeared, and no one has seen him since. His Grandma has been trying to support and care for him since then. But it has been a struggle for her because she also has other kids she is caring for in that home. She can't work much so earning money to support the kids is not easy. The other kids in that home still have at least one parent alive. So these parents help the Grandma financially by paying for their kids school fees. All except for Andrew. He has had no one able to pay his school fees. He's been the one left at home with no hope. This is a story that I hear so much here in Uganda and it breaks my heart every time. This past week we were able to make his dream come true, and to show him that there is a point to his life. He is now in school and will now have a uniform, shoes, and be promised at least 1 meal a day.
It is such an amazing and humbling thing to be used by God to show others his love.
If you feel led to sponsor a child and give them a chance to get an education here in Uganda. Please let me know.
