Each Of Us Were Given Life For A Reason....

All of us were created for a reason, and there is a purpose for each of our lives. But there are so many kids here in Uganda who don't see a purpose for their lives. They feel hopeless and that there is nothing to live for. Their families don't have enough money to send them to school so they are at home either working or doing nothing. When you meet them you can see that hopelessness in their eyes. You can see how hopeless their life is. Part of my passion here in Uganda is to help some of these precious lives see that there is hope. To see that they are important and treasured. One way I am trying to do this is by sponsoring some of these children so that they can go to school and get an education. This week I was able to get my first child sponsored. Below is some information about him:

Andrew is a young boy just 8 years old. He has lost his Mom and at the same time his Father disappeared, and no one has seen him since. His Grandma has been trying to support and care for him since then. But it has been a struggle for her because she also has other kids she is caring for in that home. She can't work much so earning money to support the kids is not easy. The other kids in that home still have at least one parent alive. So these parents help the Grandma financially by paying for their kids school fees. All except for Andrew. He has had no one able to pay his school fees. He's been the one left at home with no hope. This is a story that I hear so much here in Uganda and it breaks my heart every time. This past week we were able to make his dream come true, and to show him that there is a point to his life. He is now in school and will now have a uniform, shoes, and be promised at least 1 meal a day.

It is such an amazing and humbling thing to be used by God to show others his love.

If you feel led to sponsor a child and give them a chance to get an education here in Uganda. Please let me know.

Support Letter:

Dear Family and Friends,
Can you imagine being a small child and losing your parents, or a young child living on your own on the streets with no love or hope of a future, or even a widow with small children and no way to feed them or yourself? These are heartbreaking realities for millions in Uganda.

As survivors from a past that was filled with physical, mental and emotional abuse and knowing the feeling of hunger for both physical food and physical parental love, we have had a burning passion to work with other children who are currently in these situations.  We want to share with them that God is good and that we are an example of what He can do for those that trust in Him!!!!  We were so excited when the doors opened for us to go to Jinja, Uganda and work with Paul and Pam Hunter of Next Generation Ministries. We are writing and asking for support on this endeavor. We will be leaving early January, 2014 and will return early March, 2014.
While we are there we will have the opportunity to:
  • Work with orphans in various ways
  • Working with Next Generation Ministries in their widow ministry
  • Various church outreaches
  • Sharing the love of Christ
  • Build relationships with fellow Christian brothers and sisters already doing work in Jinja
We need your help to make this happen. The cost of our trip to Uganda is $5,000 each. Can you give any amount to help us reach our destination? Even if you can’t, we ask for your prayers before and during our trip. If you would like to be a part of this exciting opportunity financially, but would like more information, please feel free to email us at livingmylifeonestepatatime@gmail.com and we will be happy to answer any of your questions!  If you would like to give towards our mission trip you can click the donate button on the right side bar.

Thank you in advance for all you are doing!
